A very nice lady pediatrician from Berlin came on a secondment to a London hospital and brought her 14 year old daughter with her to London for a term. She was lucky enough to find her a place at the last minute at our local secondary school because of where our house is situated. We have had fascinating conversations over various dinners about life in Berlin (before and after the wall came down) and Cuba which we visited this year and where she spent childhood years with her family.
