BART, the regional underground train system, takes you all over the Bay Area, see bart [dot] gov to see where it goes. MUNI buses (see muni [dot] gov) take you all over SF: #22 goes across town to the Marina district and the northern part of the bay or over to Potrero Hill; #33 takes you to diagonally across town through the Castro to the Haight; the #14 takes you downtown or out Mission St; #49 takes you to North Point St - Pier 39 & North Beach - or out Mission St; J Church train takes you to Noe Valley or downtown. Our home is in the middle of a vibrant, diverse neighborhood and we'd love to share it with you! The Mission has it all in one fun and exciting neighborhood: countless murals and street art, galleries, clothing stores. The food scene starting within half a block is off the charts. Unlike other neighborhoods in the city, there's a wide range of prices in the restaurants, cafes, and other venues - from the super affordable burrito and pupusa restaurants to high-end European cuisine. You can get a $7 meal and a $20 cocktail in the same block. The Mission is a bustling and very "urban" part of the city. We live at the end of a short street in the "eye of the storm," so to speak, but the street itself is usually quiet and calm and my neighbors are great! I've lived here for over twenty years and feel entirely comfortable walking around alone as a woman. Still, the neighborhood is busy and sometimes it can seem a little "rough around the edges." This is the trade-off for amazing food, nightlife, and culture within steps of your front door.
