We will be away June 11 to July 4th 2024 and offer our offer our home for rent, fully furnished, at a greatly discounted rate in exchange for cat sitting. We have a four-year old short-haired female cat, well behaved and affectionate, super mellow, who needs a companion while we travel. Cat sitting duties consist of feeding twice a day, cleaning litter box daily, scratching and petting on demand. Though she’s so shy that she might be hiding most of the time. The house is a true retreat: an adorable, light-filled, recently renovated 3bdr 2bth 1920s cottage on a quiet cul-de-sac in South Pasadena. Gorgeous landscaping for true indoor-outdoor California living. It feels like a hide-away in the countryside and is only 5–10 minutes from Pasadena and 15–20 minutes from downtown LA. Extremely charming 1920s architecture, 1700 sq ft, fully renovated: original hardwood floors restored, new bathrooms/bedroom, open kitchen. New landscaping with beautiful Mediterranean style plantings. Midcentury modern furniture. Large living room with Batchelder-style fireplace, dining room w/Danish design table and chairs sits 6–12, cute breakfast nook, great kitchen fully stocked for serious cooking, gas grill outdoor. Every single room in the house has French doors and windows, so there is amazing light throughout. The main bedroom suite has a queen bed, walk-through closet and private “spa” bathroom. The two other bedrooms are set up as kids’ rooms, each with a twin bed, bookshelves. The set up could be modified. Our preference would be to store personal items in one room and have the other two rooms and one bathroom available for tenants. Washer/dryer, wi-fi, dishwasher, central air/heat. We have recently finished completely new landscaping in gorgeous Mediterranean/cottage style. Fenced front yard that offers privacy from the street with lush plantings and seating areas including a daybed for reading/napping/daydreaming, a side patio with a dining table for 8 easily accessible from the kitchen and dining room for outdoor eating. Lush plantings throughout, fountains in both front and backyard. It is a quiet cottage oasis. It is separated from the main house by the garage and backyard and is very private, with landscaping that hides each house from the other. We have rented both in the past and the two houses were so private that people in one hardly saw people in the other. We have also lived in the main house ourselves while renters were in the guest house.
