My two kids grown and flown; their quiet, private, fully furnished rooms are available for short-term or long-term monthly rental. I'm ideally situated in Brookline Village, near corner of Harvard and Aspinwall; many coffee shops/restaurants and small parks, a 5 min walk to bus/subway, walking distance to Longwood Medical Area, HMS. Public transportation nearby gets you anywhere you can't walk or bike (bike paths everywhere; Emerald Necklace greenway nearby). My home is a duplex (3 floors; one of 2 condominium units side by side) w/ 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and a finished basement; the vertical layout makes for very nice privacy inside. Door separates my(owner's) third-floor ‘suite’ from the second floor at second floor level; I have 3rd floor to myself w/ my private full bath, and the second floor (yours) has 2 bedrooms and the second full bath. The larger front bedroom (available 6/1/2024, $1,900/month) has a full size bed, desk and chair, small couch, dresser, ample closet and three windows, two of which overlook quiet street and park.) The smaller bedroom is currently occupied by a returning guest and has a twin bed, desk and chair, ample closet and two large windows, one overlooking rear private sitting garden). You and the other tenant share your second floor full bath with marble floor/counter, bath tub and shower. The neighborhood is very quiet, safe, and quaint. I have very pleasant private outside space for reading/grilling, etc, w/ table and chairs, grill, and hammock. Living room, dining area and kitchen offer all the comforts and amenities of home. Fully equipped cook's kitchen has granite countertops, dishwasher, disposal, stove, microwave. Living room has gas fireplace, TV, piano, high ceilings, crown moldings. Central air and wifi throughout. Washer and dryer in basement; linens provided. Cleaning service bi-weekly. Rent rate is fully inclusive and by the month; prefer longer term (quarterly/semester, 3+ months) Typical tenants post docs at LMA, 1-2 year stays. I've hosted visiting professors and scientists from Italy, UK, Switzerland, Hungary, Brazil, Colombia and Australia; scholars from China; relocating executives from Jupiter and Bethesda.
