Our home is a beautifully detailed Arts and Crafts house with spectacular views of the Hudson River and Manhattan. It has a variety of outdoor spaces including a spacious front porch, a stone patio in the back, and a lawn area with a lovely flower garden. The house has a fully equipped kitchen, a powder room, an elegant dining room and a spacious living room on the ground floor. On the second floor are three bedrooms, a separate office and a bathroom with a tub and shower. There is a laundry room and another full bath in the unfinished basement. My husband and I are semi-retired architects and spend part of the summer in Colorado. During the school year, I am a professor at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn and he is a graduate student at the University of Edinburgh. We also have kids in Los Angeles, Colorado, and Barcelona whom we love to visit. We love our Hudson River community, its woods and open spaces, the views of the river and Palisades, and its artistic vibe. During the summer, the village offers outdoor concerts, kids' activities, tennis courts, and a community pool to enjoy. The village's historic downtown is a 10-15 minute walk away and offers grocery shopping, a range of unique shops and galleries, and charming restaurants at a variety of price ranges. A playground is a ten-minute walk, as is the beautiful Old Croton Aqueduct trail that runs for miles to the north and south. For bicyclists, we offer the use of two road bikes, one mountain bike, and an e-bike. The South County Rail Trail is a ten-minute ride away, or you can park and ride. The house is very sunny and includes a view of the Hudson River from almost every room. The back patio (with a table for eight) and front porch are great for outdoor dining and we invite you to use our gas grill and fire pit. Besides the essentials, the kitchen is equipped with a microwave, a toaster oven, an espresso maker and other coffee makers. Our pantry includes a wealth of spices and other condiments and staples that you are welcome to use. We are looking for a quiet individual, couple or small family to enjoy our beautiful home. We want to respect our neighbors' privacy and peace, so we request no loud parties or music. The house is perched on a hill so it does require some climbing (not ADA accessible). There are 22 steps to reach the front porch and the bedrooms are on the second floor (more steps). However, a little bit of work yields a fantastic reward: a spectacular view of the Hudson River and Manhattan.
