This apartment is perfect for an academic couple or small family looking for an extended stay in the greater Boston area. Tufts University, is 11 minutes away by car; Harvard is 12 minutes away. Boston's North End and BU are each 20 minutes away during off-peak travel hours, and easy access to Route 2 & I-95 also makes excursions to points north, west or south a breeze. Located on a private way in the quiet neighborhood of Arlington Heights, you're just three blocks away from Robbin's Farm Park (with gorgeous views of the Boston skyline, and a state-of-the art children's playground due to be inaugurated in July 2024) and several bus lines. The Alewife T station is eight minutes away by car, and the Minuteman Bikeway -- America's Revolutionary Rail Trail -- makes cycling in to Cambridge, Somerville / Medford (or out through Lexington to the Minuteman National Park) a joy. In addition to several smaller parks nearby in Arlington, Beaver Brook Reservation (next door, in Belmont) and Arlington's Great Meadows (just across the line in Lexington), are beautiful and convenient green spaces. Stop & Shop, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods grocery stores are all 2-4 minutes away by car -- 10 minutes by bike -- and the Massachusetts Ave. corridor running through Arlington has scores of great shops and restaurants. The fully furnished apartment has plenty of direct light, with two or three windows in all the main rooms, and the location of the house and second floor apartment provides sweeping views to the north and east. It's comfortable for an extended stay of up to four people. The primary bedroom features a king-sized bed with organic, Saatva mattress, and a large walk-in closet with extra, overhead storage space. The second bedroom has a single bed that can also be turned into a bunk bed for two children as well as a closet, dresser, desk and chair. The office / study features a large desk with monitor (powered USB-C connection), a TV equipped with Roku (to log-in to your own streaming services), and a (very comfortable!) queen plus-sized American Leather sofa bed which converts that room into a guest bedroom for two additional, short-term guests. Beds, mattresses and couches are all brand new (purchased in 2023). The chef's kitchen is equipped with quality cookware / utensils, plenty of cabinet space, a large fridge, dishwasher, gas stove / oven, Breville air fryer / toaster oven, electric kettle, and a Philips 1200, one-touch coffee machine. There's a 4-seat, bar-height table in the kitchen for everyday meals (and the 6-seat dining table in the living room and front balcony are also options for meals on special occasions or outside). A vestibule that leads out to the spacious, front balcony (equipped with 3-4 chairs, table and a large reading / lounge chair) is also used as a coat room (to leave outdoor shoes, coats, bags, equipment, etc.). The bright, modern bathroom is clean and, with a small tub and shower. A washing machine and dryer are available in the basement of the property, and a drying rack is provided as an alternative to dryer use. A covered car port provides off-street parking (and overnight street parking for guests or additional vehicles is allowed).
