Looking to rent our fully-furnished home in North Berkeley for 6-8 months (August to March, we have some flexibility on start and end dates). This home is one of the most unique in Berkeley, sitting on a large lot across a wood bridge that crosses a seasonal creek. Deer roam the neighborhood, there are crickets at night, and you can be forgiven for thinking you live somewhere very removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. And yet just a 5 minute walk away is Solano Ave, with restaurants, a grocery store, a new climbing gym, a bakery, coffee shops, etc. This unique combination of serenity combined with walkability is what makes this property so special. Besides the oversized yard, which is a maze of nooks and crannies for both kids and adults of all ages to get lost in, the home itself is a charming built-in-1921 piece of California history. Period details abound, from the unique crown molding to the double chimney fireplace. There is even a small view of the bay and San Francisco from the main living room window. The kitchen is fully updated, with Thermador appliances. There is a full pantry with a "baking corner", complete with a second oven, dedicated counter, etc. The washer and dryer in this pantry space is also extremely convenient. There is a small bedroom on the main floor that we have used as an office, with beautiful windows overlooking the oak trees in the yard. Upstairs are the main 3 bedrooms, two of which are used by our kids. These can of course be configured with beds for adults (or older kids) if you wish, and we are happy to help with coordinating that. There is one bathroom upstairs that is very nicely done, with a double shower and oversized tub. Photos still include many of our things, and we are more than happy to remove (or leave) whatever you want. We are living here with 3 young kids, so the home can be made more adult friendly if that isn't your situation. All utilities are included (electric, gas, water, sewage, garbage, internet). House cleaner included, comes twice a month. Yard maintenance included, comes twice a month. We have a TV with Netflix, Apple, Disney, and HBO subscriptions, all included as well. We have a Peloton and some dumbbells in a flex room that's off the garage, can leave that as well. We are a family of 5 spending a year abroad, and looking for someone who will take good care of our home. We have two friendly cats, and if you are willing to take care of them we can discuss a discount on the rent (otherwise we'll have our friends or family take them).
