Situated on four acres, consisting of a forested perimeter and a sprawling orchard with 120+ year old fruit trees. Old growth timber is scattered across this and adjoining properties. Mt. Baker in Washington is the central feature of the 180 degree sea view, along with the San Juan Islands and international shipping lanes. The view is framed by the Gowlland Point Lighthouse on one side, and Mt. Warburton Pike on Saturna Island on the other. The Canada/U.S. border is located about 5km beyond the property. Gowlland Point Beach lies about 10 meters in front of the home, easily accessible via stairs. The beach offers varying characteristics as the tide rises and falls; low tide reveals a vast array of marine life and the upper regions offer interesting beach combing opportunities. The large, L-shaped outdoor deck is positioned in a way that maximizes the view, and allows one to seek or lesson exposure to the sun as the day progresses. A propane barbeque grill is located on the deck. The core of the 1800 s.f. home is Pan Abode cedar log construction, with a conventional stick-frame construction addition. Overall, the home's ambiance is cozy and warm. An extensive library with a generational collection of literature sprawls throughout the home. Furnishings are mostly high-quality leather and solid woods. The kitchen is small, but updated with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. The dining room can accommodate six with ease, more when necessary. There are two living areas, one seaside with large panoramic windows and a fireplace/heater, and an additional great room with television and a large desk. A 3/4 bath serves the main living area and secondary bedrooms. Another larger 3/4 bathroom is located in the primary bedroom. The primary bedroom is equipped with a queen size bed and presents a remarkable sea view. Another bedroom also has a queen bed, and the rather small third bedroom has stacked bunkbeds.

Comments: Very tranquil oceanfront ambiance in a low population rural community; limited ammenities and restaurants within a five to 20 minute drive, but major city conveniences are a short ferry ride away. If you can't focus here, you're beyond hope for focusing!
Comments: 100% electric home, with supplemental wood heat. Utilities to be included, with a monthly cap. Amount TBD, but you'd have to be an abnormal consumer to reach the ceiling. Our excellent housekeeper is available - cost depends on frequency.
Comments: The property is adjacent to parks and nature preserves. Many trails, beaches and the peaceful country road are very inviting for walks and general exploration. Orca, deer, osprey, bald eagles are common sights from the house.
Comments: Some simple property upkeep tasks may be asked of you, or local trades people may need to be overseen by you.
