We have a beautiful home in a friendly, safe neighborhood, in an undiscovered part of the SF Bay. The house is located in the historic neighborhood of Point Richmond. The area is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Locals refer to it as The Point. It's a quaint area that feels like a hidden village. It has good access to San Francisco, Berkeley, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, and the rest of the Bay Area by car, bridge, ferry, bike, train, and bus. The house is situated just above the historic downtown. It sits below the peak of the hill so it has protection from the winds coming off the bay and is nestled in its own little south facing banana belt. There are several fruit trees in the yard, including lemon, orange, apple, blueberry, lime, olive, and avocado. The area is very walkable. Downtown is a couple of blocks away. There are great, locally owned restaurants, two Mom and Pop grocery stores, coffee shops, a wine bar, a huge waterfront park, an amazing swimming pool, a bank, several churches, a barber shop, art gallery, a library and community center, and a exercise studios all within a couple of blocks. A short walk up the hill gives you expansive views of the bay and 3 bridges. You can see Miller Knox Park from the house and walk to it in 10 minutes. You can also walk to the water and connect to the San Francisco Bay Trail. Here's a great link to information about the community and surrounding areas: https://www.pointrichmond.com Like any densely populated metropolitan area, commute times vary by time of day. If your commute is during peak hours then it will take longer. Fortunately, our home is well located - near Berkeley and the east bay, San Francisco, Marin County, and wine country. For instance, if you are traveling to UC Berkeley by car it takes 20 to 40 minutes, UCSF is 30-45 minutes, Mill Valley (Marin) 26-40 minutes, and Napa 45-75 minutes. These travel times all vary depending on time of day. You can compare your planned travel time by time of day using google maps.
