Our 1400 sf apartment is in a 3 unit building built in 1895. Our apartment is the first floor and the front of the second floor. The first floor is open concept with a foyer, dining room, living room, modern kitchen (except for the antique 1930's gas stove), large island with butcher block counters, and a full bath that includes a huge claw foot tub and separate shower. There is an apartment size washer and dryer in the kitchen, as well as a dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee maker. There are 10' ceilings and tall windows that let in lots of light. French doors in the kitchen open to the private rear yard. The second floor has a bedroom with queen size bed, 2 night stands with lamps, a tall dresser, a sitting area for reading, a built-in closet area and a desk with large monitor screen, desk lamp and printer. This bedroom is accessed by the spiral staircase. Have no fear, though, there is a door from the bedroom that opens into a second stairway that is great for bringing suitcases up and down. There are new hardwood floors in the dining & living room and almost all new furniture throughout the apartment. We also recently had fabric blinds installed on the front windows and soon to be installed on the french doors as well. There is always something to see or do in this city. Public transit is within a 5-15 minute walk, depending on where you want to go. If you have a car, parking is on-street only and no parking permit is needed. We typically walk most places. There are 5 grocery stores within a half mile - 2 Aldi stores, Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joes, and Market District, as well as a lot of really good restaurants. From spring to fall, the front yard is a gorgeous perennial garden that delights the bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds that visit. This is our home for 8 months of the year and during the winters we go to Florida, which means we want someone who will care for it like we do. Each year we have had visiting professors who have taken excellent care of our home and we look forward to inviting you to enjoy the peace and tranquility you will find here. We know that you will enjoy Pittsburgh as much as we do. I look forward to hearing from you!
