Heron’s Nest is the attic suite in Thane House, and heritage designated home built in 1894 (old for this part of the world). Rob and Melinda live on the main floor. We love James Bay! Rob is an engineer/geologist and former UBC Professor. Melinda is the owner (and chief baker) of a neighbour hood bakery and cafe. In her previous life she was a film and television editor and documentary producer. We have been living and renovating Thane House since 2020. She’s a beautiful home and an ongoing project! Heron’s Nest would be an ideal location during a sabbatical leave or writer’s retreat. Walking or biking distance to all Victoria has to offer. We are definitely located off campus, so some travel would be required. Bus stop nearby. We are in a beautiful location- surrounded by colourful heritage houses, close to downtown, the harbour, rugged beaches, Beacon Hill Park, and more. We are flexible on the length and duration of stay and a monthly rate can be negotiated based on the length and time of stay.
