We are going away for two months looking to rent our beautiful home, located in the neighborhood of Maxwell Park. We have significantly discounted the rent because our renter should take good care of our two adorable and easy-going cats as well as the house. Only people who love cats should reach out. We moved in four years ago and adore living here. It's a corner 1924 Spanish Mediterranean spacious property (house is 1300 Sq. Ft and lot is 5,430 Sq. Ft) that is bright, architectural and warm. The front grounds are surrounded by Yuccas, mature trees, California native plants and vegetable beds. The backyard has large table for eating, a brick oven for fabulous outdoor cooking and a newly installed hot tub and lounging area. Past the arched glass door is the formal foyer with a turret attic just above head. The living room is large with built-ins and trey ceilings. The dining room has a large table for hosting. The octagonal breakfast nook has a table for everyday meals and flows into an updated kitchen with butcher block countertops and tiling. The bedrooms are spacious (the second one is easily used as office) with an updated bathroom with a bench shower. The house is a 3 min drive to Highway 580 and 2 miles from Bart. We commute to UC Berkeley by car, which takes 20 minutes. Public transit is pretty good with buses close by that connect to Bart (Fruitvale or Colosseum). The neighborhood is quiet and safe and very close by to MANY restaurants, shops and other sites (downtown Oakland, Lake Merritt, stunning hikes).
