Historic Family Home just blocks to UC Berkeley

A lovely landmarked property in the convenient and desirable Gourmet Ghetto neighborhood of North Berkeley. Close to local shops, restaurants, farmer's market and public transportation. The property is 1/2 mile from UC Berkeley, perfect for visitors to the University. The original architectural details, the lush garden, and the location make this an ideal home away from home. We are renting our beautiful 1885 Victorian home. The historic part of the house includes 1 master bedroom with a king bed, 1 smaller bedroom with a twin bed (plus trundle), 1 bathroom, a large living room, a formal dining room, a kitchen, and a front porch. This space is entirely private, but there are other guests on the property. There is a basement unit (under) and an inlaw unit (behind). There is soundproofing among units but we ask guests to be respectful of the potential for sound to travel, particularly between the kitchen spaces. The laundry room and backyard garden are shared among guests. The rate includes utilities (gas, electric, water, garbage, wireless internet) and full furnishings (all furniture, sheets, towels, pots, pans, etc.) Our cleaner will do very basics every other week. The house does not have TV. There is (coin-operated) laundry in the basement. A car is not necessary as we are in walking distance to (shopping, UC Berkeley, farmer's market, BART). There is no dedicated parking space for this unit. Parking is street parking. Parking immediately in front of the house requires a parking permit that can be obtained from the city (otherwise it is only 2 hour parking during weekday business hours). Some visitors obtain city parking permits and others park a few blocks north where there are no parking restrictions. We are affiliated with UC Berkeley and love sharing our property with sabbatical guests, visitors to the area, and locals alike.
