We are recently retired and looking to spend six to 18 months in the DC/VA area, where our daughter and son-in-law now live. To offer our home, we need to find a comparable place in DC/VA. An exchange would likely be the best way to accomplish this. Our home is a warm, comfortable space with many amenities. We recently built a master suite with a view of the backyard/garden that we enjoy. The master has a king bed (actually, 2 twins next to each other), a large screen TV, and an elliptical trainer, as well as a beautiful master bath. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and desk. There is a small additional room with a twin bed and a trundle. The office has French doors that provide a lovely view of the patio and the backyard. The kitchen has a Viking stove, as well as numerous appliances (Nespresso, air fryer, instant pot, etc.) The living room has a piano, as well as a wall-mounted TV. We have two patios in the backyard, with a barbeque and lighting, so you can enjoy them in the evening as well as daytime. We have a pretty succulent garden, with Meyer lemons available for you to pick as you need them. And in the spring you'll also see beautiful iris and camelia blooms. We are in a great location for visitors to LA. Our home is on LA's Westside, in Westwood Village, walking distance to UCLA, restaurants, and shops. Bristol Farms Market and Starbuck's are only a block away! We're a five-minute drive to Beverly Hills to our east, and a 10-15 minute drive to Santa Monica beach, to our west. It's an easy drive to Hollywood or downtown (roughly 20 minutes, if no traffic). We're very near to a convenient bus, a metro line, and access to key LA freeways. The Hammer Museum, offering free admission, is only four blocks away. In its collection are several pieces by Rembrandt, as well as Van Gogh, Matisse, etc. The little-known Westwood Village Memorial Park cemetery is only a three block stroll away from the house and includes the gravesites of Marilyn Monroe, Natalie Wood, Billy Wilder, Hugh Hefner, Rodney Dangerfield, and many more notables. This cemetery is personal and small, making for a fascinating visit.
