Open for exchange or rent while we explore living in another country. Beautiful home in a historic neighborhood, called one of the top ten trendy neighborhoods in the nation by GQ. Quiet street alongside great neighbors. Jamaica Plain prides itself on community with local shops, diversity of dining options, a Whole Foods in walking distance, 15 minutes from Longwood hospital district, and clost to MIT, Harvard and Boston Common and 20 minutes from the airport. Our 1890 home, built for German master brewers in local breweries such as Sam Adams, is updated with renovated kitchen and bath, spacious living AND dining rooms, two offices, relaxing backporch and yard. Plus, powered by solar panels and heated/air cooled with heat pumps. First floor is traditional design: living room, dining room, kitchen and hallway with stairs to the second floor. Living room includes a gas-fired wood stove and a piano. Two bedrooms, both with double beds and favorable natural light, are on the second floor, plus two small rooms (with natural light) which we use as offices. We just renovated the bathroom with a Mexican tile look (hope you like it!). Our third floor is an open design with a footprint of the whole house and has exposed beams and rafters and natural brick chimney (no fireplace, though). Full bath also on the third floor. Of course, you may be hear to explore! We're 7 min walk from major subway line, a few minutes walk from two major grocery stories and walking distance to famous Jamaica Pond and Harvard's Arboretum. Our community, though part of Boston, has its own center (on Centre Street, of course) with restaurants, post office, three used clothing/consignment stories, famous ice cream shop (JP Licks!)---you get the feel.
