Coronado, California, United States
Our one of a kind 1932 historic residence has been thoughtfully updated, yet retains its original vintage charm. This sunny Spanish home wraps around a lush courtyard with a bubbling fountain as the focal point. A unique 3 bedroom/2 bath structure, this is the perfect choice for a couple on sabbatical. Each bedroom features a ceiling fan along with plenty of windows for viewing the gardens, hummingbirds, and butterflies. The two smaller bedrooms each have a single bed, desk, and bookshelves -- we currently use these two bedrooms as studies. Depending on the time of the year, our organic garden will add citrus or avocados to your meals. There are raised beds for you to grow your own veggies. The roomy rear driveway is an added bonus -- no searching for street parking. For those without a car, the San Diego MTS 901 bus stop is a block away. This bus will transport you over the bridge to the San Diego transit center where a transfer to a trolley or another bus can take you just about anywhere in San Diego county. The house is just two blocks from the scenic San Diego Bay; an only 8 block walk through quiet residential streets to the world famous Coronado beaches. The bayfront Coronado municipal golf course is nearby -- a golfer's delight. Coronado is a lovely small town located minutes from downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, Petco Park, the Gaslamp district, Little Italy, the Navy bases, and the airport. Coronado's mild climate and level terrain create a paradise for walkers and cyclists -- most locals prefer to bike or walk across the island. Many parks dot the city and our wide beaches have been named best in the US. Grocery stores, restaurants, cafes abound, many are within easy walking distance -- we'd be happy to share our favorites with you. Our home is available for a house swap near UCBerkeley beginning Aug 2021 for one year, extensions will be considered. There is some date flexibility available -- please inquire.
