Portland, Oregon, United States
We're pleased to offer a year-long lease for our four bedroom/two bath house in the N. Mississippi/N. Williams neighborhood of Portland. Multiple cafes, restaurants, and shops are only a few blocks away, along with three local parks. On the main floor of the home, you'll find a living room with a modern, efficient wood burning stove, which provides ambiance and compliments a newer furnace. The living room opens to a dining room, with a table that seats eight comfortably. On the main floor, one bedroom is furnished as a den, with a Smart TV and a bookcase with children's books; this room has a queen pull-out couch. A full bathroom and kitchen are positioned toward the back of the house, which opens onto a private backyard. (A fifth bedroom, off the kitchen, which currently serves as our family's office, will be storage while we're traveling and locked to our renters.) Downstairs, the common spaces have oak floors, custom built-ins, large window, Rejuvenation Hardware fixtures, and 120 year old original pressed tin ceilings. Upstairs, you'll find three bedrooms with wood floors. A large master bedroom has a queen bed and windows overlooking the lilac bush and the garden. Another room has a twin bed, accessed with a ladder which has an art space an reading nook underneath.* The third bedroom has a full-sized bed and a desk for work or school and a play area. A modern bathroom, fully renovated in 2014, has double sinks and a glass-walled shower with marble tile. *One photo shows a bunk room. After the picture was taken, we moved the lower bunk into the third bedroom upstairs to separate our daughters for online school. The bunk room now has only the upper bunk with a reading nook and art table beneath. A photo of the new bedroom will be coming. The house comes furnished with all sofas, tables, chairs, beds, and linens as well as a fully stocked kitchen. The garden provides raspberries, blueberries, Asian pears, and apples, and a raised bed is available for your own gardening. We have three laying hens and receive about seven to 12 eggs weekly during the warmer months. You can keep and care for the chickens, or we'd be happy to give them away prior to your arrival. A playhouse, outdoor seating, and grill will be available for your use in the backyard along with seating and a swing on the front porch. The neighborhood is almost silent at night but is very lively during the day. You're a short walk to 2020 James Beard award nominated restaurant Eem, ice cream at Ruby Jewel, pastries at Grand Central Bakery, wood-fired pizzas at Life of Pie, Thai street food at Mee Sen, Voodoo Donuts' more delicious competitor, Blue Star Doughnuts, and a perfect cup of coffee at the Fresh Pot. We're also two blocks from New Seasons Market. (All of these businesses, as of April 2021, have weathered the pandemic.) Unthank Park park has a play area and basketball courts. Irving Park has a playground and tennis and basketball courts, and Dawson Park has a newer playground and a water feature. All have large fields for running and playing and all are walkable from the home. Finally, we're on two bus lines, one of which takes you directly to Portland State University, about a 7 minute drive or a 20 minute bus ride to downtown Portland. *This website allows only 10 photos. Please be in touch for more photos of the rooms and yard.
