You will wake to the sound of birds, not cars, as the house is tucked away with cul-de-sacs in front and behind, so traffic doesn't find its way here. The hub of Elmwood's commercial district is only a 5-minute walk away and it's where you will find an abundance of cafes and stores that line College Avenue all the way to the UC Berkeley campus, and south, to the North Oakland and Rockridge shopping districts. San Francisco is about a 15-20-minute drive without traffic and is easily accessible from Rockridge BART also which is located 10 blocks south on College Ave. The property is comprised of two duplexes, and this one is on the ground floor with all rooms on the one level. There are about 3-4 steps to enter the main entrance as shown in photos, where the property faces west onto a quiet private cul-de-sac that looks the same as it did in 1908 when the houses here were built. There are two children’s parks within 50-75 yards of the house: the first is across the street, secluded behind a row of houses, and the other is to the north of the property and only a three-minute walk. Bateman Park is an excellent children's park complete with play structure, toys, picnic tables, redwood grove and a field. It is not easy to find due to the fact that it is hidden behind homes which results it being known mostly to locals only and therefore less crowded and more intimate than other area parks. Walk, bike, drive, or take the bus to campus! It is only a fifteen-minute walk along some of Berkeley's most love streets in the Elmwood. The Elmwood is an upscale part of Berkeley and a residential versus student housing area. Quiet and away from it all in a secluded location, yet just a couple of blocks to everything.
