Georgian house with 2 ensuite bedrooms in Zone 1, all utilities included

We can't say enough good things about Susanne and Paul's beautiful Georgian townhouse. The home itself is quite spacious, and comes equipped with absolutely anything you might need for a short or long stay, and then some. It's been beautifully updated, while also preserving the home's historic charm. Our family of four lived there for 4 months while we were in London for a teaching semester abroad and it quickly came to feel like a home away from home.

The location was also perfect-- the neighborhood is a real neighborhood (not too touristy) but it's so central you can walk to most of the major central London attractions & has great transit options. We can't wait to return someday soon!

We (two older single gents) very much enjoyed our stay at 155 Kennington Rd. The house, which is well presented and equipped, is exactly as advertised (though visitors should note the several flights of steps up the living room and master bedroom). Throughout the summer months (June-mid-July) we appreciated the cool, shady, outdoor courtyard, great for entertaining. The location is very convenient to all of London via the buses at the door. 10 mins to the West End on Bus 59 via Waterloo. The surrounding neighbourhood offers many pleasant surprises. For anyone seeking a gym, LSBU Active (London Rd) must be one of the best equipped and least expensive centres on a casual basis for non-members. We would happily return for another stay.

We stayed in Susanne's lovely house for a month and had a great experience. It's a very convenient location to explore all of London's museums and attractions with easy access to underground lines and buses. Some good local pubs nearby. Susanne and Paul were wonderful hosts, very easy to communicate with and looked after us extrememely well. We would love to stay again sometime. Highly recommended.

We feel so lucky to have found Susanne and Paul's place in Kennington. We needed to make some adjustments to the furniture set-up to accommodate our two older kids having their own sleeping spaces, and Susanne was incredibly helpful with that and so many other things.

The place is well situated and appointed for a variety of lifestyles: quiet studying, cozy family living, or sight-seeing. We could walk (20-30 minutes) to Westminster & Big Ben, or BFI Southbank, Shakespeare's Globe theatre & Borough market for amazing international food stalls. We enjoyed pizza and pints at The Ship on the corner, and the Three Stags also had great food. Overall, a very comfortable place that is even more spacious than it appears in the photos.

Spacious, well-equipped home. Good location to see many London sights, many within walking distance or an easy bus ride. Enjoyed sitting in the backyard. Small grocery stores are close by.

The host provided a thorough tour upon arrival. She was responsive to emails thereafter and checked in appropriately. Easy communication from start to finish.

Would highly recommend this home.

Susanne is absolutely wonderful--I could not ask for anything more in a landlady. And the house is gorgeous, comfortable, fully equipped, and conveniently located. I hope to return in the future for another excellent stay.

I had such a wonderful stay in Susanne and Paul's house, and I could not have asked for kinder or more accommodating owners. The house is charming - full of history, with lots of period features - and equipped with everything one could possibly need. I hardly needed to bring anything with me! The house is very well cared for and a lot of thought has clearly gone into its preparation, with lots of little details that make it homely. The large downstairs study was particularly useful for two people working from home. The location is also perfect for commuting to both north and south London, as it is so central and well connected. I feel incredibly lucky to have stayed here and I hope to be able to return one day - thank you both again!

We stayed here for 6 weeks in May/June 2019. The house was perfect for us. It is divided into different levels (floors) so there is a lot of space and it never feels crowded, even with four adults staying there. It is an old/historic property but much of the interior living spaces have been recently remodeled and upgraded. The furnishings are agreeable and the place contains everything you could possibly need for a comfortable, relaxed stay. The study area on the ground floor, with two work areas, was particularly helpful as both my wife and I needed to spend time writing/working. The modern kitchen was fantastic and fully equipped. The top floor master suite was spacious, modern, and comfy. The only slight drawback with the property was the family of wild foxes that lived in the back garden. While they were quite fun and cute to watch out the window, their presence limited our ability to fully utilize the outdoor area. It wasn’t really a big deal though because we were mostly either out exploring London or inside working and we didn’t really miss or need the garden space. The neighborhood is great – busy, but not particularly noisy. It is an easy ten minute walk to the underground (Bakerloo Line in Zone 1) and there are convenient bus connections even closer. It is very close to central London and an easy walk to the Westminster Bridge. Despite being close to many big tourist attractions (Westminster/London Eye etc.), it doesn’t seem overly touristy -just more like a regular London neighborhood. There are a lot of pubs within easy walking distance. I recommend the Three Stags for food and ambiance, the Tankard for specials/low prices (2 for 1 burger night on Monday), and the Doghouse for a rowdier more lively vibe. There are some decent restaurants nearby; Kennington Tandoori has good Indian food. And, there is a large Tesco supermarket about 15 minutes away by foot. Susanne, the owner who handles the rental, was easy to work with and accessible. She interacted with us in a very professional yet friendly manner and overall the entire experience was a pleasant one. So, bottom line: a fabulous house in a wonderful neighborhood with great owners. Enough said.

This is a lovely, lovely home in a very central location. As a Londoner, returning to UK for a research visit, I had thought I knew the area quite well but was pleasantly surprised with the location as it was so easy to get everywhere, by bus, taxi, tube or foot. Much more central than I had thought. The house is on a busy road hence the great bus routes, but is very quiet as set well back from the street. The kitchen is great with all mod appliances. The beautiful master suite at the top of the house is gorgeous. So much to do nearby with award winning pub for Sunday lunch, not to mention the bars and restaurants of the South Bank and Waterloo and easy to get to all the major universities, library’s etc for a productive days work. The hosts responded so quickly to a problem despite being out of the country at the time. I can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for a great stay in London.

We stayed in this lovely home for three months, and thoroughly enjoyed it! The large study is very light and has one desk looking into the walled back garden and another looking into the front garden. The lounge is also large, the two bedrooms are very comfortable, and the kitchen, heating, washer/dryer, etc. are all very modern. The street can be busy, but the bus to the British library stops right across the street, the bus to the Royal College of Music stops in front of the house, and it is an easy walk to the South Bank. Perhaps most important, the owners were wonderful; we couldn't have asked for better hosts.

Susanne was a friendly and hospitable host and made us extremely comfortable in her lovely, well appointed Georgian home which was as described. It is modernized in the ways that matter and Susanne thought of every detail to make her guests feel welcome and cozy, from luxurious flannel sheets to loaded oyster cards, to a well stocked and equipped kitchen and dining room. She was available to help us with any questions we had without being intrusive and was very easy to deal with. We look forward to our next stay!
