| One-bedroom apartment in the heart of Downtown Toronto |
I am moving out of the country and have a one bedroom apartment to rent suitable for a single or couple. The apartment is small but the layout is very functional. The location is unparalleled. It's less than five minutes' walk from the subway, and the building is within a block of the Ontario College of Art and Design and the Art Gallery of Ontario. The University of Toronto and Ryerson University are each only 10-15 minutes' walk away. Numerous restaurants and shops can be found in all directions, and Toronto's colourful Chinatown and Kensington Market are only a few blocks distant. Toronto's major hospitals, financial and government districts, and entertainment district are also a short walk away.
This is a lease assumption. The apartment is available starting April 1 (with the possibility of a slightly earlier move-in). You would take over the lease, which runs until August 31, 2010. After that you could continue on a month-to-month basis if you wanted.
The apartment has a living area, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, 2 closets and a balcony. It is on the eighth floor of a quiet, very well-maintained building with 24-hour security.
The apartment is unfurnished but I can leave you some furniture if you would like - a bed, a table, bar stools, and microwave.
The rent includes electricity, heat, water, and cable TV. You only pay for Internet and phone if you want those services.
The building is part of a complex with an internal courtyard (good for walking small pets) and the rent includes access to an on-site fitness centre and outdoor pool. There is a laundry room with washers and dryers in the basement.
A storage locker may be rented for $10 per month.
Underground parking is available for around $190 per month, the going rate for this part of Toronto; however if you are working downtown or near public transit you can easily live here without a car! If you will only use your car occasionally you may find it is more economical to park at a more distant garage.
To rent you will need to provide references and proof of income (e.g., an employment letter) to the building management. They will also run a credit check. |
