Our family of four is finishing up a year-long sabbatical and invite you to stay over the summer in our comfortable, colorful, and tastefully furnished home with multiple work spaces, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a peaceful backyard. Enter the house into the spacious living room with bookshelves, sectional couch, and 60" TV. We have a large dining room with a table that can fit 16 people (with two leaves), as well as an office nook and storage. The kitchen has granite countertops, high end appliances (including microwave, toaster, coffee/tea station, instant pot, food processor, blender, etc.), deep stainless steel sink, and lots of prep space and cupboards. The quiet master bedroom at the back of the house has a queen bed, en-suite bathroom, and large closet. Two other bedrooms decorated for children (one with bunk bed, one with day bed) could also be used as offices. The second bathroom with shower over tub is near the front bedroom and the living room. A renovated and fully finished garage adds to the living space as a family room or office next to the kitchen, and can be used as a guest room with pullout couch, desk, and lots of storage (including a chest freezer and laundry room/pantry). The backyard, accessed from the dining room, is a relaxing retreat and entertaining space. The slate patio is covered by a beautiful pergola with climbing wisteria. Nearby a low deck has a large sectional couch and beanbag chairs. A barbecue and outdoor sink allow you to cook outside as well. For the kids there is an elevated playhouse with a climbing wall, slide, and hanging bars, as well as a basketball hoop in the two car driveway. We live on a safe, quiet street with friendly neighbors. Centrally located on the San Francisco Peninsula, in the city whose slogan is "Climate Best by Government Test," we avoid the cool fog of San Francisco and the heat of the South Bay. Excellent summer recreation programs and camps are run by the city of Redwood City and local organizations. During summertime, the city also runs regular, free, outdoor events like Music in the Park and Music on the Square. We are close to major tech companies, as well as multiple state and private universities and community colleges. Being equidistant to the two major freeways and cross-bay bridges facilitates easy commutes around the bay. Walk, bike, or bus downtown for great restaurants, entertainment, or to catch the train into San Francisco or San Jose. We have three grocery stores within a mile (Whole Foods, Safeway, and a local independent grocer), as well as three parks/playgrounds (one with a large community center, sports fields, and accessible-adventure playground). You can kayak and paddleboard in the bay from the local marina. Hiking, running, and biking trails are plentiful along the bay and in the nearby mountains. It is a short drive to the mountains, redwood forests, and the ocean. We love our home and community, and hope to share it with you!
