Our home is perfect for a family, couple(s) or roommates who want a comfortable, mid-century furnished home right in the middle of the Bay Area's best neighborhood for eating, drinking, and people watching. Our family is taking a much needed, delayed parental leave from our respective jobs, and we'd love to share our home! THE HOUSE Our recently renovated town home is 3-stories, consisting of: +First Floor (entry level) - Guest/second bedroom, bathroom with shower, garage (with Peloton bike), and storage. +Second Floor - Living Room, open (stocked) kitchen, large dining table, den/office complete with 75" TV ideal for movie nights +Third Floor - Master bedroom, washer/dryer, master bathroom with jacuzzi tub + shower, toddler bedroom (could be used for office or reading room for those who don't have a toddler) We have furnishings that we love, so we'd expect any visitors to treat them kindly. But we also have two small children, so nothing we own is overly precious. We're happy to answer any specific questions you have about layout and furnishings! THE NEIGHBORHOOD Temescal is known as the food and drink capital of the East Bay and arguably the entire Bay Area. Long home to the largest concentration of Korean and Ethiopian food in the region, the last 15 years has also seen an explosion of new global, and California-inspired cuisine. The neighborhood is on the north side of the city, ~10 blocks from the Berkeley border and is a short (10 min) drive from bike ride from Downtown Berkeley and the UC campus. Our home is within a 2-5 minute walk from many iconic food destinations, including: Pizzaiolo Daytrip (recently recognized as one of the SF Chronicle's top 25 Bay Area Restaurants) Snail Bar (ALSO recently recognized as one of the SF Chronicle's top 25 Bay Area Restaurants) Burma Superstar Marufuku Ramen Cholita Linda Hawking Bird Asmara Ethiopian F.O.B. Kitchen Pyeong Chang Tofu House Bakesale Betty's North Light Rose's Taproom Temescal Brewing Bird & Buffalo Thai Street Food For cooking at home needs, there is a Whole Foods two blocks away, a Sunday farmer's market two blocks beyond that, and Berkeley Bowl (one of the best grocery stores in the country for produce) a 5-minute drive or 10-minute bike ride up the street. THINGS TO CONSIDER +We love our neighborhood and all the vibrant places and faces that make it so fun. That said, it's definitely an urban living experience, so whoever rents the house should expect some street noise. Our street is one block away from the main restaurant drag but still has moderate car traffic. +Our home is vertical, so you'll need to be comfortable going up and down several flights of stairs daily. +The outdoor spaces are private but shared with our neighbors. (We have fantastic neighbors, all of whom we know, and most of whom have lived in the adjoining units along with us since 2014!)

Comments: Our town home sits in the heart of Temescal - Oakland's best food+drink neighborhoods. We are less than a 5-minute walk from many of the Bay best restaurants, cocktails, breweries, and a Whole Foods. You have everything you need within a few blocks.
Comments: We are happy to include utilities (including water, electric, and a full compliment of SmartTV apps on our embarrassingly large 75" TV ). We also have a Peloton bike in the garage available if renter wants to cover cost of monthly membership - $45.
Comments: We have two young kids (3 and 2 year old). The 3rd bedroom is outfitted for a toddler, including crib and books/toys. (We could move some of that out if necessary.)
We are no green thumbs, and none of our plants are rare, expensive or hold too much sentimental value - but we'd appreciate help just giving them a drink every week or so.

Comments: Our town home shares a courtyard with our neighboring units, many of whom have kids who play out back regularly. It's not a "backyard" per se, but a shared social space. There is also a private, enclosed garden/dog park the units share.
