Best time of year: Spring when the tulips and other flowers bloom, visit Keukenhof, Queen's Birthday on 30th April in Amsterdam and more!
Short bike or bus ride from central train/bus/tram station "Utrecht Centraal" or a pleasant walk along canals. Free and plentiful parking under linden trees. Famous local pub facing the setting sun and canal.
Very conveniently located within walking distance of supermarkets, local shops of fresh vegetables and fruit, and a park and two libraries. On a breezy day you might smell fresh coffee from the coffee factory nearby. Otherwise it is a safe neighbourhood for jogging, walking, or cycling next to canals. On the other side of the canal is a popular sportsclub with regular classes and fitness equipment.
Second only to Amsterdam in terms of cultural activities, Utrecht is considered the centre of the Netherlands for public transport and 4th largest city (population nearly 300,000) and home of largest university and youngest population. Fast, direct train from Amsterdam Schiphol takes you there in less than 30 minutes for about 7 euros one way. Fast trains to Amsterdam Amstel station (nonstop, every 15 min).
We are well-travelled, open-minded mixed writer/musician couple who have bought this house to launch chamber music house concerts, with a growing network of culture vultures and other arts aficionados.
High speed wireless internet access and high spin-rate washing machine provided. Ideal for single nonsmoker, no children, who has somewhere else to go during the day. 45 to 65 euros per person/ per day depending on circumstances and time of year. Share bathroom and separate toilet. Owners have own toilet and kitchen downstairs & garden house.
For the time being, this is a room within a house. However, the entire house can be let and/or exchanged for desired destination if and when owners go away, e.g. summer and winter periods. Otherwise, share the upstairs on a self-catering basis. Euro, STG, US$ accepted as deposit by online bank transfer or PAYPAL.
