AVAILABLE NOW! This fully furnished single family home on a quiet cul-de-sac is located within minutes of Sunny Cove beach and the beautiful Monterey Bay Marine Sanctuary. The house features a reverse floor plan with vaulted ceilings, a large kitchen with a gas stove, a great room (dining room and living room) with a piano and a fireplace, what we call the FOG room (Family, Office, Guest Room) and a full bathroom with a tub on the upper level overlooking the trees. Sliding glass doors that open onto 2 balconies and a stained glass window in the foyer provide an open airy atmosphere. Downstairs are two large bedrooms, with the master bedroom opening into a backyard patio surrounded by roses, camellias, star jasmine, a magnolia tree, irises, and raised garden beds within a fully fenced yard. The second bedroom has two lofts with twin beds and a large desk and play area below. A second full bathroom is at the end of the hall. The front loading washer and dryer are located inside the two car garage. Newly painted.
At the Santa Cruz harbor, which is minutes away, I walk past sea lions, harbor seals, pelicans, and cormorants daily on my way to the lighthouse and occasionally see dolphins, whales and otters in the waves. Every Sunday, year round, a farmer’s market featuring organic produce is held in the parking lot of a local shopping center on the way to the beach.
The house is perfect for a family, with great local schools and a swim center nearby.
It’s 5 miles to UCSC, a 15-20 minute car trip. Great hiking among majestic redwood forests in the Santa Cruz Mountains is about 5 miles away as well. Downtown Santa Cruz is 10 minutes away as is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. It’s a 35-minute trip to the San Jose airport, or SJSU and 50 minutes to the Stanford campus. Monterey and Pebble Beach are about an hour away on the other side of the bay.
We will be on sabbatical and will leave the house fully furnished with linens, microwave, dishes, TV, Stereo, gas BBQ, beach chairs, etc. Use of bikes, sports equipment, and cars is negotiable.
The house is non-smoking with no pets due to allergies. We will require a refundable cleaning deposit, and our son will be managing the property while we are away.
